I absolutely love the Florida Keys! It’s amazing how just a short drive from Miami can transport you to island vibes and a laid-back lifestyle, a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. From sandy toes to relaxing views, the Keys have so much to offer.
This year’s visit was extra special because I got to do a meet-and-greet with a dolphin, followed by a swim session! It was such an incredible experience to interact with these intelligent and friendly creatures up close. Swimming alongside a dolphin and getting to know more about them was a dream come true. The joy and excitement I felt were unforgettable.
I like to visit the Keys once a year for a staycation, and every trip feels like a mini-paradise getaway. The relaxed atmosphere, clear blue waters, and vibrant marine life make it the perfect escape from everyday life. Whether lounging on the beach or exploring underwater wonders, the Keys always provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and adventure.
Another highlight of this year’s trip was feeding the tarpon at Robbie’s Marina. It’s such a fun and unique experience! These massive fish are surprisingly gentle when they take the bait right from your hand. It’s a must-do activity that adds a bit of excitement and connection with nature to any Keys visit.
No trip to the Keys is complete without dining at Sundowners or Morada Bay. This year, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner with a live band playing some of our favorite tunes, including hits from Kings of Leon. The combination of great food, not to mention the best key lime pies! stunning sunset views, and live music created the perfect ending to our day. There’s something magical about watching the sun dip below the horizon while listening to live music and feeling the ocean breeze.
The Florida Keys never fail to impress with their charm and endless activities. From dolphin encounters and tarpon feeding to sunset dining and live music, every moment is filled with joy and relaxation. It’s the perfect getaway spot to unwind, explore, and create lasting memories.
